Hi all, well this certainly is a very neglected blog, I just haven't felt the energy or enthusiasm to get here and write about what's going on, although it would probably do me a lot of good to get all the shit that's going on in my life out of my system and written down somehow. But since it's very ugly Family Court stuff going on, I think I'll leave those issues for my hand-written journal, not here for the world to see.
Life has been a crazy time of endless appointments the last couple of months and I am happy to say things have eased off a bit. I actually have a bit of time this week where Toby and I can do as we please and I'm reeeeeally looking forward to that!
Tomorrow I'm off to see the Haemotologist and check in that my blood issues are doing okay, then we have the day free. We'll probably go to a play centre so he can run around and I will do some writing and knitting/crochet.
Last weekend we went to the Australian Sheep and Wool Festival in Bendigo and it was wonderful to be there again. This was the third year in a row we've been and it's nice to be able to buy some of the things I can't buy locally. I got some sock blockers, a set of colored aluminium hooks, a couple of great books, and I can't remember what else right now!
The weather was kind to us, it was overcast and only rained a sprinkle here and there but by geez it was COLD!! I decided I NEED to make something to wear for next year, I have all this lovely handspun that I've made sitting around in tubs here, and yet I froze my tits off all day at the show, it just doesn't make sense does it??
I had started a crocheted handspun shawl the week before the show that I had planned on wearing, but a few days before the show I realised that trying to wear a shawl in a crowd, plus I'd be pushing Toby in the pram as well, probably wasn't a good idea, I had visions of it slipping off all day and I really didn't need the hassle. So I didn't rush to finish it.
Well I've started a lovely crocheted handspun poncho all done in natural fleece colors that I've spun myself. I'm quite pleased with the way it's coming along. I only started it yesterday so I'm about a quarter done so far.
I've also made some crocheted scarves from my handspun that I'm pleased with too, I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take some.
Here's some pics of us up at Bendigo.
Well there's an issue with Blogger at the moment, it won't let me load my pics so I'll leave those til next time.
Goodnight all xxx
